Other Organs

Cysts and tumors similar to those observed in the kidney sometimes appear in the liver, lung, pancreas, and other organs.

These lesions are not usually seen until later in life and are rarely symptomatic. Bone cysts can also develop but usually do not cause problems until later in life.

In addition, pits have been noted in both baby and adult teeth in over 90 percent of individuals with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC), but their significance is not known. Rectal polyps have also been reported but do not appear to cause problems.
